Project Rescue Me Calendar

A call for rescued dogs and cats and the people they own for the ProjectRescueMe.net calendar.

If you live the San Francisco Bay Area and have rescued an animal, we’d like to take your pet’s portrait (and you, too, if you like) to be featured in a calendar.

Featured Rescue Animal of the week

Meet Sandy!
Media_httpi49tinypicc_kcuac

Sandy is a 6 year old greyhound who has been at the shelter since Halloween. Why? There’s nothing wrong with her--she just needs a very specific home. You see, Sandy is gentle and sweet with people. She loves to cuddle and lean into you. She is currently the favorite dog to have behind the front counter because she loves attention.

BUT she is very picky about other dog housemates. Sandy doesn't do well with other dogs. In fact the only dog friend she has at the shelter is another greyhound named Tank who is very calm and easygoing. (We keep trying to explain to Sandy that if she’d compromise her principals just a little, she’ll get a home much faster, but the girl’s got her standards!)

Sandy would be great as the only dog. She’s been a pet before--she’s not straight off the track. She is house trained and loves being social with folks at our front counter. She is actually somewhat stressed from being her so long and has lost some weight so we'd really love to find a forever home for her. If you’ve got the right home-- Sandy is waiting for you!

This weeks rescue of the week is located in Omaha Nebraska. http://www.nehumanesociety.org The Nebraska Humane Societies phone number is (402) 444-7800.

Perfect kitten for adoption: smart, fearless, funny, tuxedo female

Media_httpi397photobu_buslf

Claire is also tons of fun: playful, curious, into EVERYTHING and afraid of NOTHING. You got noisy kids, a big dog? Bring 'em on--Claire doesn't care! She's ready for anything.

And for you smart-cat lovers, yes, she is a smartie. She talks to you, complains even; figures things out; and--this is the best part--she FETCHES! Yes, Claire is a one-cat circus, fully qualified to bring love and laughter into your home and make you wonder how you ever lived without her.

Because Claire is so active, she needs another friendly cat or dog who will be her companion when you're not around. You do not want her to get bored or lonely; she will think of things to do!!! If you don't have another cat, she gets along great with her mom,

Miss Ivy (pictured above), who is also a really, really nice, gentle, affectionate cat.

Get a head start on things by downloading our adoption application from http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/CA690.html and e-mailing it in response to this ad, or to adopt@homelesscatnetwork.org. Claire was rescued and fostered by the Homeless Cat Network, an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3), nonprofit animal rescue group operating in San Mateo County. Our adoption fee ($100) includes Claire's spay, FIV/FeLV testing, vaccinations, microchipping, and lots of love! Thanks for thinking of Claire!

Buster is happy to be in his new home!

Thank you to the family that adopted Buster. He is now living happily in a permanent home.

Michelle rescued him from being euthanized while at a shelter. She says she is not a rescuer but clearly she loves animals.

Koyas is a Chow and Lab mix.
Koyas is the name he came with, but Michelle didn't like it, so she started calling him BUSTER.

Buster is a young adult, maybe 4 years old - his exact age is unknown.
He doesn't seem to recognize his name, so renaming him would probably be ok.
He is a very sweet dog and all the shelter volunteers loved him.
He may have been abused by his former owners - he is shy, cowers easliy and is frightened of loud noises.
Buster is current on all of his shots and is neutered and micro chipped.
He's definitely an inside dog, and does not like to sleep outside.
He loves to go for walks and walks well on a leash.
He gets along with other dogs and loves to play.
He is very sweet and very loving and LOVES his belly rubbed.
Michelle would keep him but she already has 4 furry babies and an old man dog that does not like new dogs around.

Michelle just wants him to go to a loving home that will take good care of him.
There is no rehoming fee.

Please contact us for more details.
